Second order of business: a meme swiped from [livejournal.com profile] imadra_blue.

Write down the names of 10 characters.
Write an one-sentence fic for every prompt, using the characters determined by the numbers. Do NOT read the prompts before writing the names.

1. Howl/Howell Jenkins (Howl’s Moving Castle, bookverse)
2. Liesel Meminger (The Book Thief)
3. Holden Caulfield (Do I even need to say it?)
4. Lightning Farron ( Final Fantasy XIII)
5. Rachel Berry ( Glee )
6. Kairi ??? ( Kingdom Hearts )
7. Allianne of Pirate’s Swoop and Olau (Tamora Pierce’s Tortall Universe)
8. Rue ??? ( The Hunger Games )
9. Rokuro Okajima ( Black Lagoon)
10. Agent Lux ( Protectors of the Plot Continuum)
(Note: As I am a member of the PPC and Lux is free for all use, I suppose this could technically be canon. But it really isn't.)

First Time, 4 & 6 (She's aged up, okay?)
Lightning/Kairi
Kairi couldn't believe the older woman's nervousness as Kairi slid her lips hesitantly along the soldier's shoulders.

Angst, 7 (Of all the people...)
Aly
Aly stared at the reports on her desk and wanted to scream over the stupid, stupid loss of her people.

AU, 1 & 8 (At last, an easy one!)
(Howl & Rue)
The girl inched a little closer to the fire and resolved to get her brothers and sisters in here too - Wizard Howl could use some extra assistants, surely?

Threesome, 3, 6 & 9 (WHY?)
Holden/Kairi/Rock
The three of them stared at each other, Kairi's face as red as her hair, Rock's face as pale as his shirt, and Holden's face the faint green of a boy with a horrible hangover.

Hurt/Comfort, 5 &10
Rachel/Lux
"It's all right, it'll come out," Rachel reassured the blonde, wiping the slushie off her face and completely failing to notice the gaze focused on her neckline.

Crack fic, 1
Howl
"Sophie," Howl hissed, already thinking of green slime and trying to ignore the sense that his ears were not where they ought to be, "what exactly do you think you're doing?"

Horror, 10
Lux
Lux had thought there would never be anything sexual she wouldn't enjoy, but she hadn't known these... things existed.

Baby fic, 5 & 9 (This meme is killing my Revy/Rock heart)
Rachel/Rock
"She's beautiful," Rock whispered, rubbing his baby's head gently and wondering again how he could ever deserve the beautiful starlet smiling at him from the hospital bed.

Dark, 2 & 8
Liesel & Rue
No one had expected the youngest girls in the Hunger Games to be the last ones standing, but somehow the scrawny blonde from District 12 and the birdlike little girl from 11 were staring at each other on the shores of the lake, and there was nobody else to end it for them.

Death fic, 2 & 3 (And I just had to cheat and make it two sentences).
Liesel & Holden, with bonus appearance from Death
The fourth time I saw the book thief was several years after the war, in the back of a taxicab in New York City of all places. She seemed to be a woman now, but she still cursed like the Himmel Street girl I knew as I picked up the boy bleeding out on the seat beside her.

Aha, I like Lightning being the nervous one with Kairi. Nice twist. I like the crack fic, too. Sadly, I don't know the other characters. But nice little sentences. *will glance at the drabbles, too*

Huzzah, I'm glad you like them! I was sort of proud of that trick, actually - originally I made Kairi the virgin, and then I thought "Well, why not a role reversal?" And I could easily believe it of Lightning, too.
As to the others, yeah, some of them were probably not the smartest choice if I wanted anyone to read it. I'm kind of surprised you didn't know Holden, though. You didn't have to read The Catcher In the Rye at any point?

Sadly, no. I actually... kinda never went to middle school or high school. Officially, I was in "home school" until they dropped me at 16. Um, it's a long sordid tale involving my family, and it does connect into why I pretty much raised my siblings. So I missed out on a lot of important reading. I do have that book on my list of books I need to read, though.

That sounds... not pleasant, but interesting. I hope it all worked out in the end, though. (And although the book's polarizing, I came down firmly on the side of "loved it".)

Ha, it did. It took me a decade, but I finally got my BA and I'm now in graduate school for my MA, so it did work out. I don't mind polarizing books at all!

Well, thank goodness for that. And although I'm aware of the controversy surrounding the book's themes, I was actually referring to the fact that some people love it and some people want to punch Holden in the face until he shuts up.

I am borrowing this meme.

It will include some radical reinterpretations of the sex-related ones, primarily due to the fact that 6 on my list is a griffin.

*ROARS with laughter*

And I thought I had it bad. Yes, that's going to require some serious reinterpretation or some very high squick tolerances... Where's the griffin from?

Year of the Griffin, by Diana Wynne Jones. Link to the stories here (http://lleullawgyffes.livejournal.com/2005.html).
