Gah. The fics I wanted to write are not getting written. I have a lot of stuff planned, mostly for

hs_bingo, but... it is not happening.

(There is a massive amount of blank white space under the cut. I have no idea why and am afraid of screwing up the HTML for the card. Bother. Just scroll down if you're reading, please?)

That is my card, and I suspect that - like the lunatic I am - I am going to try and write a large O, a.k.a one fic for every fill around the outer edge. The ones I have planned are:

1. School dance. For the magnificent The Traitor Game, Michael/Francis preslash. Basically, they go to a community dance (because I doubt their school would hold the things) and hate it, and Francis is induced to dance with a girl and Michael has a fit of jealousy. I have about two lines so far:

The dance is miserable – the music is pulsing its way through his head and the entire overheated room just reeks like a group of warriors in plate armor at midsummer. And everything is too bright.

2. College acceptance/denial letters. Kingdom Hearts. Sora, Kairi, and Riku, of course - Kairi will be attending nursing school, Riku will possibly join the army or possibly go into scary and dangerous chemistry or nuclear physics, and I have no idea what I will do with Sora yet. Vague. Possibly he will not get in anywhere and be all "okay, fine by me, I'll work out something."

3. Group date. Glee. Puck/Santana/Artie/Brittany, working out the parameters and rules of their polyamorous relationship, and Artie deciding that if there is going to be a foursome they all have to go have dinner together again before the sex happens.

4. Coming out. This is going to be either Kingdom Hearts or The Traitor Game. In the first case, Riku will come out to Kairi; in the second, it could involve Francis or it could involve Michael coming out to himself.

5. Class -drama. Merlin. Merlin is a techie, Morgana is cross-cast as Arthur, Arthur is cast as either Lancelot or Mordred, and Gwen does sets and has paint in her hair. Also Gwen and Morgana will probably date, but I am not sure.

6. Class - art. Merlin/Kingdom Hearts.Nami/Gwen; Namine is a newly-transferred sophomore and Gwen is the intern for her art class. They bond. There is more of Gwen in paint-spattered smocks with smudges of red and yellow on her forehead or in her hair, and she and Nami will both wear plaid flannel shirts open over something else, because both of these visuals have some sort of odd appeal for me and I am shameless. (The paint-spattered look on Gwen is probably because it is very cute and down-to-earth and communicates that she is doing interesting things and cares more about them than about how she looks but she looks very pretty anyway without trying. I have no explanation for the second, but in-story it will be because Gwen feels that as a newly out lesbian she ought to wear plaid flannel, and Nami sort of idealizes her and wants to be like her.) It is probably not a great idea for me to try and write Namine, but I DO NOT CARE.

7. Rivals. Probably something involving Merlin/Arthur slash, but I have no real idea.

I also have an idea for a rather long The Traitor Game slashfic, already mentally entitled "But That Was In Another Country," and it has themes and scenes and repressed attraction and Micheal going "I AM NOT GAY, OKAY, I DO NOT FANCY BLOKES. ...I do fancy Francis, or at least I am very glad that he fancies me and I liked kissing him and I want to kiss him more - but that's DIFFERENT, that isn't BLOKES, it's just FRANCIS." (Oh Michael, you are so totally gay and fighting it, stop trying to do so.) It also involves symbolism and coming up with a new country with masked balls and more obvious magic and odd technological contrasts and a bit more of Francis in it, and although they don't trumpet it to the world they are willing to work on it in public and provide a very vague summary of what they're doing if anyone asks. This is obviously symbolic of becoming mildly less so-closeted-he-can't-say-he's-gay-even-as-he's-asking-if-he's-really-been-outed (in Francis's case) and less incredibly paranoid about everyone hating him (in Micheal's case.) And there is a lot of healing before we get to the making out, and Michael revealing his "don't ever try to talk to people" policy and Francis saying "Michael, not talking to people is what got your wrist broken," and of course they both realize that he isn't even remotely talking about the damn wrist. There is also open discussion of what happened at the comp, which is going to be bloody difficult and possibly glossed over as I have no idea what happened at the comp. I do know that Michael ends by thinking Francis is going to think him pathetic and weak for being so bothered, and Francis looks at him and says "Bloody hell, Thompson,* how did you survive that?!" and starts talking about wanting instruments of torture on hand.

* Possibly at this point he actually says Michael. I have not worked out when they call each other by their last names instead of first names, but as anyone who has read my FFXIII stuff may have guessed, I place a great deal of emphasis on the way characters refer to each other.

And I was supposed to be WRITING some of these today. I may still, but it is 1:27 and that is probably not a good idea. But I am stubborn.

ETA: So the stubbornness produced 1200 words of Merlin/The Traitor Game crossover. It is going to fit one of the things, anyway. I think I'll use it for either "coming out" or "dance," and if I do the second I'll recycle the jealousy concept into something else with a different setting. Possibly it will go under "rivals."

(On the bright side, I reached my quota of Official Work that had to be done. This is what burned me out and prevented fic.)
