Libya: Not in any way a happy post here
Feb. 21st, 2011 03:03 pmOkay, has everyone on here heard about Libya?
If anyone hasn't, what started as protests have exploded into flat-out war on the streets, bordering on a massacre. This has a lot of information, most of the news coming out of the country (much of it shaky), the videos, everything. EDIT: This is also a good summary of news stories, and this is useful with quite a bit of background provided. It obviously is in no way an objective source, but seriously, if you can be objective about this than I don't want to know you. Death counts are in the hundreds over the past 24 hours; evidently most of the gunshot wounds doctors are treating are in the head and neck; hospitals are being targeted; apparently Gaddaffi actually ordered the soldiers to rape the women protesting. It's horrifying.
I... don't know what there is to do, really, but trying to spread the news a bit has to count for something, right?
